Deborah Lubelski.

An Artist and Teacher of Art, resident of Rehovot. Deborah was born in 1952 in Montevideo, Uruguay, and emigrated to Israel in 1973. In her youth Deborah was influenced by her father – a photographer-artist – and absorbed from his work many elements which influenced her artistic development.

In 1984 she studied sculpture under the sculptor Yaacov Epstein in the Academy of Art, Bat-Yam.

Deborah uses a variety of materials – stone, wood, clay and bronze – and through them it is possible to experience her emotions, generated by her life in Israel and Europe.

Deborah has presented her work in a number of joint exhibitions in Israel and in the years 1995-1998, when she lived in The Netherlands due to her husband’s occupation, presented her work in a number of exhibitions in and around the country.

In 2000 she joined Cicla – The Association of Israeli Hebrew-Latin American artists – and participated in a number of joint exhibitions.

In 2001 she was awarded the Batuz prize by the Uruguay Embassy in Israel.

At the moment Deborah is sculpting a number of new works. One series explores life basic principles while another investigates the Israeli reality.
