This corpus of these works is a dialog with the history of art. It is a dialog with the past. Nothing can be new in Art. Everything has been done before in the best of the ways. There's no need to "invent" new forms and images. Therefore I have chosen several elements from the western art repertoire and through replication I appropriated them.

They occur as an integral part and became mine. Now I can manipulate and reformulate them to my likings.

These paintings deal mainly with nostalgia. Nostalgia for a different culture, for a different kind of painting that has never been part of my being, but I long for it.
